our story
Meet Peggy
Peggy was born and raised in Shanghai. Some of her earliest memories are of watching her mother get ready-slipping on simple pieces of jewelry that never felt flashy, but always felt intentional. What stayed with Peggy wasn’t the jewelry itself, but the sense of confidence and calm her mother carried while wearing it.
At eighteen, Peggy moved to New York. Life began to take shape between two cultures-the symbolism and philosophy she grew up with in China, and the creativity, pace, and modern design of the West. Over time, those influences blended naturally and became the foundation of her work.
The Rebirth
During a period of personal transition, Peggy returned to the teachings she had known since childhood-ideas rooted in balance, energy, and alignment. Jewelry became her way of expressing that perspective in a tangible form. Designing pieces that felt grounding, wearable, and meaningful allowed her to create something that reflected both where she came from and where she was going.
Jewelry with Meaning
BeamMore jewelry is designed with intention, not excess.
Each piece is influenced by the natural qualities of its materials-metals, gemstones, and form-and by the belief that what we wear can hold personal meaning. Peggy draws inspiration from Eastern philosophy, including the Five Elements-Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth-which represent balance, movement, and the relationship between people and nature.
These ideas are translated into modern, minimalist jewelry designed for everyday wear. Pieces that feel considered, personal, and easy to live with — whether worn alone or layered as part of a daily ritual.
The HuLu Symbol
The HuLu is at the heart of BeamMore.
As a child, Peggy received a HuLu from her grandparents-a traditional symbol associated with protection, good fortune, and well-being. It became something she carried through different stages of life, offering a sense of continuity and reassurance during times of change.
When Peggy began designing her first collection, she instinctively returned to the HuLu. Reimagined through contemporary design, the HuLu became a way to honor its original meaning while creating jewelry that felt modern and wearable.
Today, the HuLu is BeamMore’s signature symbol-representing protection, balance, and possibility, and connecting Eastern tradition with Western design.
Burbur (Chief Balance Officer)
Butterscotch-affectionately known as Burbur-became part of Peggy’s life during a time of recovery and rebuilding. Her steady presence offered comfort in small, everyday moments, reinforcing the importance of routine, care, and connection.
Burbur represents gentleness, balance, and the grounding influence of companionship. She holds the unofficial title of Chief Balance Officer, a reflection of the warmth, humor, and thoughtfulness that shape the BeamMore brand.
